Frederic Thomas Houghton went to be with the Lord on Sunday, February 19, 2017 surrounded by his loving family in his home. He was born in Guatemala City, Guatemala to Orest and Opal Houghton. He moved to Florida in 1954 with his family and was a resident of Brevard County for 55 years. Fred graduated from Melbourne high school and served in the United States Coast Guard. He is survived by his wife, Sharon, of 36 years, son, James, 2 grandsons Logan and Lawson, mother, Opal Houghton, and brothers Jon and Stephen, all of Melbourne, nieces and nephews, Christina, Melissa, Jessica, Ryan, Anne, Rhenda, Benjamin and Stephen. Fred was preceded in death by his father, Orest Houghton.
Fred worked in Robotic Technology. He loved restoring clocks and creating artistic blacksmithing.
Fred found his Christian faith while serving in the US Coast Guard in Alaska and his relationship with other believers in Christ was central to his life.
Fred’s family would like to thank all those who expressed their love and support thru cards and prayers during his time of illness.
