Deacon Freddie Charles Napier was born on September 6, 1957 in Courtland, Alabama to the late Henry and Georgia Orr Napier.  He departed this life to be with the Lord on June 15, 2015 at Decatur Morgan Hospital.

He confessed a Hope in Christ at an early age and joined Jackson Chapel C.M.E. Church.

He received his formal education in the Lawrence County School System and was a graduate of Courtland High School Class of 1976.

He was a loyal employee with Reed Contractors from 1999-2007 until he retired for medical reasons.

Deacon Napier was preceded in death by his parents and sister, Annie Ruth Randolph.

He leaves to cherish his memory: a loving and caring wife, Bessie Smith Napier of Courtland; a devoted son, Fredrick “Peanut” Napier (Shannon) of Birmingham; two brothers, Henry James Napier Jr. (Brenda) of Courtland and Donnell Napier of California; a loving sister, Trannie Carter (Willie) of Courtland; a special niece, Shannon White of Courtland; great-niece, Jakenya Smith that he reared as his own; two devoted great-nephews, Kavian and Javian of Courtland; a loving god-grandson, Camden Thompson of Birmingham; goddaughter, Daylon Mason of Decatur; niece, Kinyuitta Smith of Courtland; tow aunts, Corine Swoopes of Detroit, MI and Lena Mae Johnson (Johnny) of Decatur; a devoted cousin, Glenn Orr of Courtland; two brothers-in-law; four sisters-in-law; and a host of other nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
