Freda Miriam Javaux was born to Earl and Winifred Remsberg Monfort on June 10, 1910. She was the third out of nine children. She had four sisters and four brothers. Mother entered her eternal rest June 6, 2010 just 4 days shy of her 100th birthday.
Freda grew up on a farm near Iola, Kansas where she taught for a short time at the school she grew up in after receiving her teaching degree. She married Merle Javaux of Iola on May 1, 1935 and their honeymoon brought them to Caldwell, Idaho. Their first child Jane was born followed by Richard and Ronald and in 1940 they purchased the farm near Notus.
Freda loved farm life but she also loved to be with family and friends.
Freda is survived by daughter, Jane of Nampa; sons, Richard (Eileen) of Caldwell, Ronald (Carolyn) of Middleton and John (Susan) of Ankeny, IA; and daughter-in-law, Gayla of Middleton. She is also survived by fifteen grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren; and two siblings, Helene Eaves of Walla Walla, WA and Phil Monfort of Waitsburg, WA. She was preceded in death by her husband, Merle and son, Charles Michael.
The families of Freda really appreciate all the staff at Autumn Wind Assisted Living and Karcher Estates for the loving and compassionate care they gave her during her stay in these two facilities.
