Freda Larsen (Codd) Cree, 97, from Rock Hill, SC, passed away October 31, 2012 in South Carolina.
Freda Marguerite Larsen was born to Alma and Lars Peter Larsen in Coral, Michigan on May 22, 1915. She was one of three children and was preceded in death by her sister, Frances and her brother, Alvin. She was also preceded in death by her husband, William Codd in 1983 and by her second husband, Lawrence Cree in 2000.
Freda grew up on a farm in Michigan. After graduation she moved to Evanston, Illinois to work in Chicago at Marshall Field’s department store selling gloves and purses. She later worked at Union Tank Car Company where she met Bill Codd. They married and raised four children during which time she was a homemaker. She enjoyed reading, cooking, gardening, traveling, her grandkids and politics.
Those left to cherish her memories are daughters, Carol and husband, (Lawrence) Magnuson of Fort Mill, SC and Marilyn and husband (Dr. Edward) Humpert of Chattanooga, TN; sons, William Cree of Laurel, MD and Allan Cree of Cincinnati, OH; grandchildren, Chase Magnuson (Jeanine ) of Broken Arrow, OK., Kim Hajas (Brian) of Fort Mill, SC, Katie Winkler of Fletcher, NC and Christine Magdaleno (Francisco) of Laurel, MD; great-grandchildren, Chase, Cami and Tye Magnuson and Jacob Downes of Broken Arrow, OK., Ethan Hajas of Fort Mill, SC., Terry Kent of Fletcher, NC and Ziva Magdaleno of Laurel, MD.
