Fred Wayne Parsons was born October 13, 1923 at New Lebanon, Indiana to Carl W. and Jesse Eaton Parsons. He graduated from New Lebanon High School and then enlisted in the U.S. Navy on January 29, 1943. Fred served as an Aviation Radioman and gunner aboard aircraft carriers in the Asiatic Pacific Theater. He was honorably discharged on November 19, 1945. He married Barbara Ann Clark February 25, 1951 in Glendale, California. They came to Idaho in 1991 and settled in Caldwell. He was employed by GTE as a network engineering supervisor before retiring after 30 years.
Fred was an avid hunter, fisherman and camper and enjoyed sharing his interests with his children and grandchildren. He also enjoyed golfing very much.
Surviving are his wife of 59 years, Barbara Ann Parsons, a daughter, Laurie Parsons; two sons, Ron Parsons and Chuck Parsons; a sister, Aletha Cobb; nine grandchildren and four great-grandchildren and five step great-grandchildren.
