Fred W. Conner, 60, Anderson, was called home to be with his Lord & Savior on November 30, 2004 at St. Johns Health System, Anderson Indiana after a brief illness.

He was born March 2, 1944 in Youngstown, Ohio, and resided in Anderson, Indiana. He lived in this area most of his life. He retired from Delphi Division of General Motors as a chemical engineer after 33 years of service.

He was a graduate of South High School and Youngstown State University in Ohio. He served his country as a 1st Lieutenant in the US Army stationed in Germany.

He was a member of Christ Lutheran Church and was very involved in the Bell Choir, taught adult education, Lay Ministry, was a Stephen Minister and was involved with many more activities with his church.

He was an avid cyclist and raised money for several charities through cycling. He was an avid fan of amateur sports and was involved in his children’s sports careers. He was also an avid recycler, was very involved with Habitat for Humanity and also gave to many other charities.

He is survived by his Wife of 38 years: Karen Stoneburner Conner. Three Children: Carla & husb and John Knowles of Anderson. Jeff & wife Heidi Conner of Pendleton. Brian Conner of Anderson. Mother: Jane Bergman Conner. Brother-in-law & Sister-in-law: Richard & Niada Stoneburner. Sister-in-law & Brother-in-law: Diane & Albert Emerick. Five Nieces & Nephews: Edward Emerick, Pamela Emerick, Matthew Emerick, Rachel Chiofolo and Richard Stoneburner. Grandchildren: Rodney Conner, Ross Conner, Matthew Knowles, Nicholas Knowles, Olivia Conner and Sam Conner.

He is also survived by his aunts, uncles, several cousins and a host of special friends. He was preceded by his his father, Carl Conner and his grandparents.
