Fred Puiia, 88, of New Haven passed away Nov. 14, 2015. He was born in New Haven on Dec. 6, 1926, son of the late Domenico and Angelina Ruggiero Puiia. Prior to his retirement, he was a research and development technician at Winchester Repeating Arms Co. and The Farrell Corporation. He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II and saw action in the South Pacific War Theater, He is survived by several beloved nieces, nephews and godchildren, all of whom adored him. He was predeceased by three sisters, Emily Puiia, Belinda Tiroletto and Mary Cozza.
