MSG (Ret.) Fred O’Neal Hughey, age 83, of Valparaiso, Fl., passed away on Thursday, May 15, 2014 at the Twin Cities Hospital in Niceville, Fl.
MSG (Ret.) Hughey is survived by his wife of 62 years, Sara Champion Hughey; four children, Sarita (George) Carriveau of Niceville, Fl., Anthony Hughey of Crestview, Fl., Patricia (Roy) Albright of Freeport, Fl., and Michael W. (Monica) Hughey of Valparaiso, Fl.; two grandchildren, Jamie Kilgore of Niceville, Fl. and Roy O’Neal (Erin) Albright of Chipley, Fl.; two great grandsons, Jared O’Neal Kilgore of Niceville, Fl. and Brodie O’Neal Albright of Chipley, Fl.; several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his mother, Jessie Mae Hughey; father, Jody Hughey; three brothers and a sister.
MSG (Ret.) Hughey was born on September 26, 1930 in Lanett, Al. He was of the Protestant faith. He served in the U.S. Air Force for over 27 years. He loved to go “galavanting” with his grandchildren and enjoyed any type of music and fishing.
