Mr. Fred Leonard Martin, Sr. passed away Wednesday, April 22, 2020.
Mr. Fred Leonard Martin, Sr, was a native of St. Petersburg, FL born to David F. Martin and Marion B. Martin. He attended the local schools of Pinellas County and Hillsborough County. He was a WWII Veteran, serving in the United States Army. He was honorably discharged. Upon his discharge from the military, he married the love of his life, Mary Johnson in 1948. To this union, six children were born.
Mr. Martin was preceded in death by: his parents, David F. Martin and Marion B. Martin; his wife, Mary J. Martin; one son, Anthony C. Martin, Sr.; one daughter, Naomi K. Martin; one granddaughter, Andrea D. Martin; one daughter-in-law, Brenda M. Martin; sisters, Mercedes Robinson, Minnie L Sellers, and Mary C. Darby.
Mr. Martin leaves behind to cherish his legacy and memory: two sons, Fred L. Martin, Jr. (Gilda), and George E. Martin; two daughters, Cynthia M. Martin and Marian L. Cail ( Frank); twelve grandchildren, Carmen D. Dean, Felicia R. Coles (Charles), Christina N. Lovett (Malik), Sharone D. Patten (Isaac), Sherrlyn D. Martin, Nafeesah Roberts Perkins (Steve), Cedric M. Roberts (Monica), Antonio C. Cail, Adrione C. Cail (Crystal), Ashley L. Martin, Alicia M. Martin, Marshanna D. Martin, and Anthony C. Martin, Jr.; 36 great grandchildren; and one great great grandson; nephews, Ronald Sellers (Annette), Dwayne Raiford, and Andrew Parker, Jr.; nieces, Dolores Bedden, Diane Sellers, Sheila Saunders (Ted), and Michelle Johnson (Charlie); a host of cousins, relatives, loyal neighbors, Wallace Crawford, and friends.
