Fred Martin, 58 years, of South Jacksonville, Il died Wednesday evening, May 30, 2007 at his residence.
He was born June 17, 1948 in Jacksonville, IL; the son of Estel and Hazel M. Smith Martin.
He is survived by four brothers, William Martin (wife, Roxy), Earl Martin (wife, Linda), and Ronald Martin (wife, Penny), all of Jacksonville and Wayne Martin (wife, Kay) of Springfield; three sisters, Phyllis Scott (husband, James) of Winchester and Judy Hoots (husband, Grover) and Nancy McClure, all of South Jacksonville; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Raymond Martin (surviving wife, Dee of Colorado Springs, CO).
Mr. Martin was a 1966 graduate of Jacksonville High School and was employed many years with the City of Jacksonville Water and Sewer Department. An avid race fan, he enjoyed traveling extensively to attend auto racing events.
