Mr. Fred Fennell Jr. was born in Morgan County on December 19, 1950 to the late Fred Fennell Sr. and Cora Lee Powell Fennell.
He joined First M. B. Church at an early age. He attended the Decatur City Schools and was a graduate of the Lakeside High School Class of 1969. After graduating from high school he served in the United States Marine Corps and the National Guards – Battalion 279.
He was a self-employed businessman. He was a business owner, motivator and consultant.
He was preceded in death by his parents; sisters, Odell Buford, Marie Baker Buford and Carrie B. Gurley; two brothers, Johnny M. Fennell and William H. Fennell.
He leaves to cherish his memory: five sons, Frederick (Tanisha) Wiggins, Broderick Wiggins, Chris Cunningham, Maurice Sears, Fred (Calithia) Sykes; one daughter, Cora Fennell of Florida; one brother, Dr. Rickey L. Fennell of Birmingham, AL; two sisters, Delphine Fennell of Chattanooga, TN and Julia Robinson of Decatur; eight grandchildren; one aunt, Beulah Booker and a host of other relatives and friends.
