Fred Douglas Young Sr. was born on May 19, 1947 in Lawrence County Alabama to the late Johnny James Young Sr. and the late Ellen Orr Young. He was employed by Courtland Police Department for 47 years, and retired as Assistant Chief of Police.
Fred confessed his hope in Christ at an early age at Jackson Chapel C.M.E. Church in Courtland, AL. He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, Harold Young Sr. and Thomas Young Sr.
Mr. Young is survived by: his wife, Alice Nell Young; two children, one daughter, Andrea Michelle Young of Hillsboro, AL; and one son Fred Douglas Young Jr. (Tatia) of Decatur, AL; three sisters, Trullie Watkins and Celestine (James) Gholston both of Decatur, AL, and Cassie (Jimmy) Battle of Huntsville, AL; five brothers, Johnnie James (Francis Ann) Young Jr. and Roy Young both of Hillsboro, AL, Joe (Charlotte) Young of Courtland, AL, and Carl (Jeanette) Young and Rodney (Donna) Young both of Decatur, AL; two sisters-in-law, Claudia Young of Courtland, AL and Camilla Ann (George) Turner of Decatur, AL; three brothers-in-law, Mizzell (Dean) Bouldin, and Sammy (Pairese) Bouldin both of Decatur, AL, and Jerry Bouldin of Trinity, AL; one aunt, Kate Young of Courtland, AL; six grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, relatives and friends
