Fred A. Safrit, Jr, age 55, of Sharpsburg, GA passed away peacefully on March 22, 2021. Fred battled advanced kidney cancer for 3 years with strength, courage and faith. Fred was born March 31st, 1965 in Kannapolis, NC to Fred Sr. and Doris Safrit. Fred grew up in Forest Park, GA, graduating from Forest Park High School in 1983.
He was a lover of all things outdoors, including soccer, NASCAR, the North Carolina Tarheels, hunting deer and fowl, Georgia Bulldogs football, and most of all he enjoyed cutting grass. Both therapy and an art form, Fred loved hopping on the mower to cut the yard. Fred was employed in the automotive industry at Webb Wheel Products and enjoyed the opportunity to travel and create lasting friendships all over the US and Canada. Over a basket of chips on Cinco de Mayo, 2005, Fred met his wife Lisa Campbell Safrit and enjoyed 16 years of love, laughter, beaches and SEC Football.
Fred is survived by his parents Fred Sr. and Doris, his wife Lisa, daughters Audrey Safrit and Claire Safrit McMahon, sisters Kelly Safrit Lewis, Lori Safrit Howard and brother Craig Safrit and their families, Fred’s nieces and nephews, along with numerous family members residing in and around Kannapolis, NC. Also missing Fred is his new canine friend, Herschel.
