Fred A. Marple, age 81, of Salem, died at 1:55 a.m. Tuesday, March 1, 2016 at the Essex 1of Salem. He was born September 22, 1934 in Salem, Ohio, the son of the late Homer and Beulah Marple.
He was a 1954 graduate of Salem High School and of Valley Forge Bible College in Valley Forge, Pennsylvania. He worked at General Motors for 22 years as an assembler. Fred served as a minister at the Real Life Assembly of God in Sebring and was a member of Realife Church in Salem. He was an interpreter for the Deaf.
Survivors include his wife, Shirley (Daniels) Marple; a daughter, Debbie (Tim) Smith of Salem; a son, Shawn Marple of Rhode Island; three grandchildren; three stepdaughters, Charlotte K. Parker of Hope Mills, North Carolina, Byrdette Baker of Salem, and Rebekah Daniels of Hope Mills, North Carolina; and brother, Homer Marple Jr. of Las Vegas, Nevada.
He was preceded in death by his first wife, Barbara Lieder in1995; and his second wife, Marjorie Barnes in 2008.
