Franklin D. Toothman, Sr. affectionately known as “Whitey”, 89, of Clarksburg, passed away on Friday, October 21, 2022 in Clarksburg at the Louis A. Johnson Veterans Hospital with his family by his side. He was born on July 12, 1933 in West Milford, a son of the late James Clarence Toothman and Cora Jane Williams Toothman Odell.
He was also preceded in death by his wife of 64 years, Patricia Ann Fain Toothman who passed away on January 9, 2020
Frank is survived by two sons, Franklin D. Toothman, Jr. and his wife Debby of Clarksburg and Jason Toothman and his wife Sarah of Nutter Fort; four grandchildren, Crystal and Kevin Greynolds, Scott and Amy Toothman, Beverly and Chase Dotson and Annie Toothman; six great grandchildren, Ethan Potts, Emma Greynolds, Mylee Toothman, Becklynn Toothman, Presley Greynolds and Jolene Toothman; several nieces and nephews complete his family.
In addition to his parents and wife, he was also preceded in death by one daughter, Beverly Toothman; two sisters, Joann Bland and Louise Carpenter; six brothers, Ed, John, Jim, Joe, Daniel “Jerry,” and Ben Toothman.
Frank proudly served in the United States Marine Corp during the Korean War.
The family would like to thank the employees and staff of the VA Hospital ICU for their compassionate care during his time of need.
