Mr. Franklin Allen Peters died at 90 years old. Franklin lived in Sierra Vista with his wife of 64 years, Natalie. Franklin died on 1/15/15 after a brief illness at Sierra Vista Regional Hospital. Franklin was born in Haverhill, Massachusetts on 11/22/1924, the son of Ann Peters. Franklin was preceded in death by his sister Marion and his brother Ernest. Before graduating high school, Franklin enlisted into the Merchant Marines and was trained as a radio electrician at Gallops Island by the Coast Guard. He served in the Merchant Marines during WWII and was awarded the Atlantic War Zone Bar, The Mediterranean East Zone Bar, and the Combat Bar. After the war he joined the Navy. He then worked for the Department of Defense and Army serving in Germany and Panama.
