Biography

Frankie Abels Potts age 73 of Merritt Island passed away on May 27, 2013. Frankie was born in Ravenswood, WV and moved to Cocoa, FL in 1963 where she met her husband Joe Potts, who coincidentally preceded her in death on the same day seven years earlier.
Frankie had a great circle of friends and family who loved and adored her; she would do anything for them and vice versa. She was known for her kindness, hard work ethic, and her delightful sense of humor. She was also an incredible cook and baked the best German Chocolate cake and Apple Pie ever.
Frankie had a 30 year career with McDonnell Douglas and worked on the Apollo, Spacelab, Delta, and Shuttle Programs and received many honors for outstanding performance including the President’s Award, NASA Excellence Award and Astronauts’ Silver Snoopy Award.
Frankie is survived by daughter Lea Ann Potts Wojcieszak (Jerry) of Merritt Island, son Clifton Potts (Kirsten) of Lake Mary, step-sons Frank and David Price of Titusville, grandchildren Sydney and Colton Potts, step-grandson 1Lt. Dustin Roark (Jodi) of Washington State. She was preceded in death by brothers Richard and William and sister Geraldine. Survivors include brothers Charles, John, and Robert of PA, Everett Raymond of WV and sister Elsie McCullough of WV, and many nephews, nieces, and loving friends.
