Frankie Lee Johnson Holcombe was a native of Frankville. Born on Tuesday, June 7, 1949 to Willie L. Johnson and Maggie Lee Boykin, she departed this life on Saturday, Jan. 2, 2021 at Mobile Infirmary Hospital in Mobile. She confessed Christ at an early age at Mount Bethel Baptist Church under the leadership of the Rev. W.T. Lang. Frankie Lee attended North Central School and received her diploma from North Central School in Chatom. She served as a secretary for the Usher Board and in her earlier years as a Sunday School teacher at Mt. Bethel. She had several occupations, including home health aide, an inspector at Silas Manufacture, and a seamstress at Vanity Fair.
Preceding her in death were her mother and father, Maggie Boykin and Willie Johnson; her brothers, Sammie Woodard, Willie Johnson, Robert Johnson and Ned Woodard; one sister, Inell Mitchell; and one daughter, Melinda Holcombe Robinson.
Left to cherish her on this earth, her loving and devoted husband of 54 years, Mr. Clarence Holcombe Sr.; her loving daughters, Mary Abston of Wiggins, Miss., Felecia Jackson of Frankville, LaTosha (Darrin)White of Chatom and Tawanda Holcombe of Frankville; one son, Clarence (Tracey) Holcombe Jr. of Frankville; 15 grandchildren, Tonell, LaBarron, Mariquis, Maiquille, LaDerricka, DeMarcus, Marquelle, Queenaise, Quadderius, Terrell, Shaquondra, Mia, Brionna, and two grandchildren that were raised as their own, LaDarren and Orlando; one godson, Stoudamire Green; nine great-grandchildren, LaDarius, Mikiylin, Zaiden, ZyIonna, Kamdyn, Ayden, Traegan, Maleah, and one devoted great-grandchild, Zaylynn; two sons-in-law, Orlando Robinson and Ralph Abston; four sisters-in-law, Susan Holcombe, Mattie Holcombe, Bernice Johnson and Ceretha Johnson; two devoted family friends, Danny Young and Randarius Hines; one devoted cousin, Anne Woodard; and one uncle, Ned Woodard; with a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
