Frankie Carolyn Swinton beloved mother and grandmother departed her life on August 19, 2017. Frankie entered this world on September 14, 1957 in Winston Salam, North Carolina born to Maeola Swinton (who proceeded her in death a month ago on July 5, 2017) and Frank Walker.
Frankie who is known by those closest to her as “Carolyn” spend her early childhood years in Mullins, South Carolina and then moved to Atlantic City, New Jersey in her teenage years were she gave birth two children Shanna Garcia and Shakia Swinton. When her second daughter was born with difficulties she then moved to Washington, DC, to be near a Children’s hospital and while there she gave birth to her third daughter Sharell Simms. Frankie later moved to Montgomery County, Maryland were she gave birth to her fourth daughter Sharita Swinton and worked at NIH until she retired in 2004. She maintained her residence there until the end of her life.
Frankie leave behind her four daughters, Shanna Garcia, Shakia Swinton, Sharell Simms and Sharita Swinton; and cousin/nephew (with whom she helped raise) Henry Swain; her grandchildren, Diandra Carter, Devante Offutt, Marcus Simms, Dashawn Knight and Cheyenne Owens; her great-grandchildren, Da’Nyah Offutt, Da’Marion Offutt and Delilah Gray; and cousins/grandchildren Marshay Swain and Kaiden Swain, other family members and friends.
