Frank Gust , age 71 of Algonac, Michigan, formerly of Midland, died Tuesday evening August 14, 2012 at his residence. The son of Aileen (Stringer) and the late Woodrow F. “Ferd” Gust was born in Essexville MI on April 25, 1941. All his life he was avid bowler and spent many years bowling on the ABC Bowler Tour.
He even had a high score of 290 in 1971. He loved the outdoors and spent countless hours fishing, duck hunting, small game hunting, and he especially loved deer hunting with the Kline family for over the past 30 years. He spent 29 years hunting at the “Property” located north of Manton MI. He owned a Pro Sports Shop in Midland in the 60’s & 70’s, he then worked at Continental lanes thru the 70’s and early 80’s. He worked for Bean Brothers Bowling Supply Co for over 20 years and he and a business partner bought Colony Bowl in Algonac MI in 2001 and until 2010 and then he retired to spend time on his boat and with his grand kids and family.
He is survived by his son, Steve (Tina) Gust of DeWitt; daughter, Ronda (Gary) Bussa of Troy; five grandchildren, Maleah, Megan and Meric Gust and Rebecca and Sarah Bussa; mother Aileen Gust; sister Penye Lunsford. He was predeceased by his Father Woodrow “Ferd” Gust and a brother-in-law, Wayne Lunsford.
