Frank left this Earth quietly and peacefully on August 4, 2019, after a valiant battle with cancer. He is now with many loved ones and friends. He will be missed, but knowing he is at peace is a great comfort.
Frank was born to parents, George M. Willsey and Carol Howard on August 20, 1961. He was the second of three children born to this family.
He attended Emerson and Linden Park Elementary schools. During that time, he participated in Knot Hole Baseball and Grid Kid Football. He attended Clair E. Gale Junior High and added choir, track and field to his extra-curricular activities. Frank continued to participate in choir and football during his high school years. He loved being a member of the Boy Scouts of America and one summer served on the staff at BSA Treasure Mountain Camp. He graduated from Idaho Falls High School in the Class of 1979.
Frank married Jamie Havens. To this union was born, Chelsi Ellen, his only child. They were later divorced.
Frank chose to serve his country by joining the United States Army. He would serve for four years and would serve his time in Alabama and Germany. He was honorably discharged and would return home to Idaho Falls. He then married Holly Coyne. He became the stepfather to her daughter, Kylara. They were later divorced.
Frank worked many places in his life. He started his working days at Gaslampe and Gay Nineties Pizza. He worked for a car wash and was a satellite repairman for many years at RSI. He worked at INEL inspecting x-rays welds. He was a TSA agent at Idaho Falls Municipal Airport for several years. He was a custodial engineer at the Teton Mall and then for Motel Six up until he became sick with cancer.
Frank married Angela Harkness Quinton. They were later estranged, and she preceded him in death in November of 2018.
Frank will be remembered for his smile, his kind heartedness, his love for the cats and dogs whom all preceded him in death, his sense of humor, his love of the game of golf and his love for reading. He played whenever he could and when he could no longer play, he watched golf on TV and was very knowledgeable about the game. He owned many books and had read almost all of them. “A reader lives a thousand lives before he dies . . . The man who never reads lives only one.” – George R.R. Martin. He enjoyed playing video games on his computer and PlayStation and watching his large collection of videos.
Frank may not have always been in contact with those he loved, but in the end he was able to show his love and mend any hurts that had been between them and him.
He fought a brave battle with cancer. In that fight he had the best team in end of life care! The family would like to thank the TEAM at Hospice of Eastern Idaho. His nurses, Lorri, Debbie, Kathy and Adam were wonderful. As were the volunteers who came to stay to give the family time out during his illness.
Frank was preceded in death by his father, George M. Willsey; stepfather, E.J. Frey; his stepmother, Jeanne R. Willsey; and his stepbrother, Keith Harrison.
He is survived by his mother, Carol Frey of Idaho Falls, ID; his sister, Helene (Gil) Johnson of Springville, UT; and his brother, Rob (June) Willsey of Idaho Falls, ID; his daughter, Chelsi (Scott) Durham of Boise, ID; his stepbrothers, Ron Harrison of IL, Max (Maria) Harrison of Idaho Falls, ID, Rodney (Barbara) Frey of CA; his stepsisters, Koni (Larry) Bourn of Hansen, ID, Yvonne Doss of CO, Jeanette (Todd) Albright of CA, Catherine Blackwell of MT, Stephanie Frey of MT, and Kassandra Frey of CA; his many nieces, nephews, grandnephews, grandniece and step-grandchildren.
