Frank Perez, 82, of Galesburg, died on Saturday, June 16, 2018, 8:45 pm, at Toulon Health Care Center, Toulon. Frank was born on February 9, 1936. He was the son of Sostenes and Rufina (Delgado) Perez.
He married Nellie Munoz in 1961, and later married Patricia Byerly in November of 1971. Frank is survived by four sons, Steve (Ronna) Perez, Victor Perez, both of Galesburg, Zachary Perez of Rock Island, and Jason (Julianna) Perez of Muscatine; a daughter, Jackie (Randy) Frimel of Bettendorf; three step-sons, Joe (Sarah) Stambaugh, Doug (Stacey) Stambaugh both of Galesburg, and Toby Stambaugh of Abingdon.
He is also survived by three brothers, John (Norma) Perez of Oklahoma, Jesse (Jovita) Perez of Galesburg and Richard Perez of Springfield; a sister, Helen Rasso of East Moline; and several grandkids and great-grandkids. Frank was preceded in death by his parents, three sisters, Natalie Sandoval, Maria Perez and Anita Garcia; three brothers, Lupe Perez, Gaye Perez and Angelo Perez and a granddaughter, Coryne. Frank was a medic for the United States Army.
After serving his country, Frank worked on the assembly line at Maytag for over 20 years, retiring in 2000. He was a bowler and an avid golfer. Frank was a member of the “Dew Dusters” at Bunker Links for 30 years. During his years as a golfer, Frank had seven “hole-in-ones.” He loved spending time with his family and friends.
