Frank P. Badia, 89, of Port St. Lucie, Florida passed away peacefully at home on Monday, May 3, 2021. He was born on March 25, 1932, in Ossining, NY to Dominick and Mary (Infantino) Badia.
Frankie (as he was fondly known) was raised in a close-knit Italian family. He grew up and was educated in Ossining, NY. He married his wonderful wife Petronilla DiSisto on February 2, 1950, in Sassinora, Italy.
Although born and raised in the United States he was well versed in speaking three foreign languages fluently. During his working years, Frankie worked in construction, as a laborer foreman, and was a member of the Local 235 Laborers’ International Union of North America.
Growing up our house was always welcoming and full of people; relatives, friends, and neighbors enjoying home-cooked Italian meals that both Penny and Frankie prepared and served. Many hot summer days were spent in the backyard making jars and jars of homemade tomato sauce. Those were some of the fondest memories that we will always treasure forever.
After his wife, Penny died, Frankie relocated to Florida in the mid-1980s. He still carried on the Italian tradition of jarring homemade tomato sauce in his garage. He loved people, he loved the company of friends and cooking his famous lasagna and/or baked ziti and many other Italian dishes.
If you knew Frankie, you know that he loved to eat! He especially loved shrimp! He enjoyed taking his friends to a late afternoon Chinese buffet. One of his favorite past times was playing a good game of cards with his friends. He loved and enjoyed the company of people, that’s who he was…
He is survived by his daughters, Mary Badia, Kim Santucci, Teresa (Steve) Rinaldi, and daughter-in-law Doris Badia. He was blessed with 9 wonderful grandchildren and 3 beautiful great-grandchildren. He is also survived by Jorge Puig a very close family friend who stood by Frankie for the past 40 years.
He is predeceased by his wife, Petronilla (Penny) Badia, son, Dominick Badia, and son-in-law Carmelo Santucci. Also, preceded by his mother and father, Dominick, Sr. and Mary Badia, brothers Dominick Badia Jr., and Arminio (Hooks) Badia.
