Frank Merten Stout of Johnston, IA, 87, passed away Sunday, August 1, 2021, at UnityPoint Health Iowa Methodist Medical Center in Des Moines. Frank was born December 12, 1933, in Ottumwa, IA, to Frank and Margaret (Merten) Stout. He married Viola (Pitsch) Stout on December 13, 1979.
Frank worked as a ticket sales manager for United Airlines for forty years, and was a member of the Elks Lodge.
Frank is survived by his wife, Viola Stout; sons, Mark (Dawn) Stout of West Des Moines, IA, and David (Janet) Stout of Des Moines; step-daughter, Jill (Gary) Wilson of Kalispell, MT; four grandchildren, Danielle Stout of Des Moines, IA, Heather Stout of Des Moines, Thomas Stout of Des Moines, and Lily Wilson of Kalispell, MT; and sister, M. Joan “Jody” Van Cura of Des Moines. He was preceded in death by his parents, and step-sons, Jeff Evans and Scott Evans.
