Frank M. Armatruda, 85, passed away peacefully, Saturday, May 5, 2007 in Hanover Twp., in the home of his loving niece, Linda Compos and her husband Stephen and their son Stephen, Jr. with whom he resided. He was the husband of the late Mary (Miller) Armatruda who passed away in 1992. Born in Bethlehem, he was the son of the late Joseph and Mary (DiStasio) Armatruda. Frank proudly served his country in the Navy during World War II, which included being involved in the sinking of a Japanese submarine. He was employed by Bethlehem Steel Corp., in the #1 Machine Shop for many years until retiring. He was a member of Ss. Simon & Jude Catholic Church. Survivors: he will be lovingly remembered by sisters Josephine Buttillo and her husband Vincent, Jennie Slusaw all of Fountain Hill, Anne Marie Merwarth of Bethlehem; brothers Joseph Armatruda of Holliston, Mass. and Patrick Armatruda of Hellertown; many nieces and nephews and his faithful companion, Molly. He was predeceased by sisters Louise Catalano, Marie Basista, Lucy McDermott and Rose Marie Petro.
