Frank L. Layton, Jr., 74, Anderson, passed away January 16, 2011 at St. Johns Health System, Anderson.
He was born March 3, 1936 in Anderson. Frank worked at Rinker’s Hardware and retired in 1997 from Delco Remy Division of General Motors, plants 10 and 16, as a pipefitter. Frank was a member of Bethany Christian Church in Anderson and Fairway Christian Church in Florida. He was active in the Sunday School Athletic Association for many years. Frank enjoyed family and friends, fishing, camping, sports, and traveling. He loved having breakfast with his GM friends. Frank enjoyed wintering in Fruitland Park, Florida.
He is survived by his beloved wife of 53 years, Judith “Judy” Ruh Layton; children, Debbie Dale Gordon of Zionsville, Sandie Larry Kennedy of Avon and Jim Shannon Layton of Ft. Wayne; grandchildren, Jennifer Dan Braus, Rachel, Luke and Sarah Kennedy, Derek, Andrea, Austin, Brayden and Ariana Layton; several cousins.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Leota Beach and Frank Layton Sr.; brother, Paul Layton and daughter-in-law, Teresa Layton.
