Frank L. Curreri, (Frankie) age 68, passed away peacefully, after a short battle with cancer, with his family by his side, on September 17, 2021. (at the Kaplan Hospice House, in Danvers, MA) He was born in Malden, MA and grew up in Peabody, MA.
He was predeceased by his father, Franklyn L. Curreri, Catherine Yiakas, his partner and “Earth Angel,” and his one and only beloved son Frank Curreri Jr.
Frank is survived by his mother, Barbara (Brescia) Curreri of Peabody, MA, his sister Corinne Curreri-Moore and her husband Craig Moore of Rockport, MA, his brother Paul Curreri of Peabody, and his nephew Paul Curreri Jr. of Peabody, and many loving family and friends.
Frank saw the world through an artistic lens, which was evident in everything he did. An original thinker with a wide range of interests and talents, Frank seemed to always hold himself to the highest standards of excellence, no matter what he was doing. His natural ability to make people laugh, began as a young boy, and was his greatest gift, and most notable trademark to his family and friends. He could make anyone laugh at any time, even when things seemed dire. Those who knew Frank best, will tell you, that he was the funniest person they had ever known.
Frank’s musical side was revealed, when he was taught, as a child, to play piano/organ by his mother. Keyboards were his favorite but he had also learned to play other instruments. He was a huge fan of Paul McCartney and the Beatles, learning to play most of their music. Over the years, he wrote beautiful music and played his own songs for his family and friends. The family music room maintained a key roll in keeping the whole family together; playing, dancing, singing, and laughing-tons. He also liked jamming to rock n roll with his brother Paul on drums. In so many ways, he was just a natural entertainer.
Frank was a perfectionist, and it showed particularly in his tile and marble work, that he learned as a teenager from his father.
Frank was also very neat and orderly, and if something was broken or not working right, he could and would fix it promptly. Frank loved the outdoors and being close to nature, often camping with his son and friends.
Frank was the captain of his golf team, Peabody High School, and shared a love and passion for the sport his entire life. His father, a superb golfer and instructor, taught Frank to golf as a young child. A highlight was playing a winning game at Pebble Beach Golf Course, CA against a pro. But to Frank, he never bragged about anything, even though he excelled at everything he set his mind to do.
Frankie adored his family and friends. His larger-than-life personality, his infectious creative comedy, his love, and all that he reverently shared with his friends and his family will be forever missed.
