Frank L. Brown, 93, of Salado passed away on Sunday, September 12, 2021 at a Harker Heights Care Center.

Frank was born on November 11, 1927 in Monroe, Louisiana to Earl and Sally (Winn) Brown. He grew up in Monroe and at the age of 17 enlisted in the US Air Force in 1945. He served overseas in Japan and later in Korea before being honorably discharged in 1952 as a Tech Sergeant. Mr. Brown opened Community Hardware in Austin, Texas in 1971 and owned and operated it until his retirement in 1999, upon which time he moved to Salado. Frank married Dorothy (Jackson) Brown on March 2, 1950 in Austin and they were married 55 years before she passed away in 2005. Mr. Brown was baptized into Christ at University Hills Church of Christ in Austin, Texas where he was a longtime member before moving to Salado. In Salado he and Dorothy were members of the Salado Church of Christ in Salado.

Mr. Brown was preceded in death by his parents; his wife Dorothy Fay Brown; brothers Robert Brown and Rodney Brown; sisters Mabel Thomason, Jennie Taylor, Nettie Riser, and Zella Larson. He is survived by his niece Barbara Duchesne of Columbia, Louisiana; his extended family Wendell (Bill) Jackson and wife Glenda of Harker Heights; Darrell Jackson and wife Gailya of New Braunfels; and Joann Batten and husband David of Tyler, Texas.
