Age 91, of Highland, passed away Sunday, September 7, 2014.

Frank is survived by his loving wife of 60 years, Mary; sons Mark (Sheryl) Kendra and Greg (Diane) Kendra; grandchildren: Marisa, Taylor, and Austen Kendra; aunt Rose Hudy; cousins: Linda (Kenneth) Lorang, Cheryl (Chris) Stjern, Karen (Jerry) Laverman, Rebecca (Roger) Prochnow, Fred (Rosann) Wityaz.

Frank proudly served his country in the U.S. Naval Air Force in the Pacific during WWII from 1941 – 1945. He graduated from Purdue University with a degree in Mechanical Engineering and went on to work for American Steel Foundries for 30 years. Frank was a former member of Sts. Peter and Paul Church in the Harbor, where he served in various offices including past president, and is a current member of Descent of the Holy Spirit Orthodox Church in Schererville. Additionally, he was a member of the Indiana Harbor Masonic Lodge #696.

Frank was an avid H.O. Train hobbyist, designed two dental offices for his son, Mark and enjoyed working on various renovation projects with his son, Greg. In his spare time, he enjoyed watching the Chicago Cubs and Blackhawks play and always attended his grandchildren’s sporting events. His sons will never forget their Dad’s special Saturday morning pancake breakfasts when they were growing up, his grandchildren will always remember his drawings of their favorite Disney characters, and his wife will cherish all of the wonderful memories.
