Frank Joseph Koenig Jr.
Frank Joseph Koenig Jr., age 91, of Osceola, passed away Tuesday, February 19, 2019, at the Good Samaritan Society of Osceola.
Frank was born January 13, 1928 at Horton, KS to Frank Joseph and Alma Adora (Jenkins) Koenig.
Frank attended elementary and high school in Pampa, Texas. He then went on to receive his doctorate degree in Veterinary Science from Texas A&M University.
Frank moved to Nebraska and resided in York and worked in Fremont as a meat inspector for the USDA.
Frank was united in marriage to Sharon Faye Pierson on September 2, 1957 in Davenport, Iowa. The family lived in Omaha, York, Fremont, Cedar Bluffs, Hooper, Seward, and July 9, 2015 Frank moved to Osceola where he resided until his passing.
Frank retired from the USDA in 1977 and during his retirement worked for a farmer in the Hooper area. While living in Cedar Bluffs they operated Koenig Kennels.
Survivors include his children, Elizabeth (Charles) Soll, Cynthia (Kenneth) Walsh, Frank Koenig III, Ruth Utterback, Robert Koenig, Richard (Claudia) Koenig; brothers Bill (Erma) Koenig and Marvin (Lordess) Koenig; 10 grandchildren and 12 great-granchildren.
Preceded in death by his wife, Sharon; daughter Kathleen Louise Koenig; siblings, Shirley, Patsy, Helen and Harold.
