Frank James Smith, 82, passed away after a long battle with CIDP and cancer on October 3, 2022 at St. Dominic Hospital. He was born February 5, 1940, in Lawrence County and was a long-time resident of the Reganton community. He was a retired pipefitter. Member of the UA Local 619 and the Vicksburg and Crystal Springs Church of Christ.
He was an avid gardener and fisherman.
He was preceded in death by his parents Willie and Edna Smith, brother Earl Smith, and sister Geneva Lewis, of Monticello, MS.
He is survived by his wife Rita Templeton Smith, sons Robert (Carmen) and Patrick (Trisha) of Utica, MS; three sisters Carolyn (Glen) Sauls of Monticello, MS, Marie Marcus of Thorsby, AL, and Betty Sue (Daniel) Gandy of Linden, AL; two brothers Grady (Susan) Smith, Glen (Patricia) Smith both of Monticello, MS. Two granddaughters Jill and Jenn Smith; three grandsons Cole (Cassie), Josh, and Chase Smith and one great granddaughter Oakleigh all of Utica, MS; numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
