FRANK J. ZIOLKOWSKI “BUTCH” age 79, of Highland, formerly of Calumet City and Hegewisch, passed away Saturday, August 20, 2016.
Frank is survived by his loving wife of 44 years Sheila (nee Kulas); sons Kevin Ziolkowski and Eric (Natalie) Ziolkowski; grandchildren Ava and Ethan Ziolkowski; trusted and best friend Rustee; nieces: Sheri (Tom) TenHove, Carla (Mark) Brown and Denise Carr; nephew Dennis (Cari) Hess; brothers in law Gregory Kulas and Mark Kulas; sister in law Gloria (Barney) Hanna; many more nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by his parents Joseph and Mary, stepmother Stella and sister Dolores (Norman) Hess.
Frank proudly served his country in the U.S. Army and was stationed in Germany at the start of the Cold War. He was a lifetime member of the Knights of Columbus Council #3323 and retired from Superior Engineering after 21 years of service where he was employed as a Mechanical Draftsman and was formerly employed by American Maize/Cargill. Frank was an avid bowler an avid Bears, Cubs and Blackhawks fan and his grandchildren’s biggest “grandpa sports fan”.
He loved to joke and enjoyed tending to his garden growing beautiful flowers and more vegetables than the family could eat. Our loving husband, father and grandfather will be greatly missed.
