Frank J. Slovensky, age 95, of Fairfield beloved husband of 67 years of Katherine (Kay) Kruzshak Slovensky, passed away peacefully in his home surrounded by his loving family Saturday, April 28, 2018. Born in Fairfield, the son of the late Frank and Theresa Slovensky, he had been a lifelong town resident. Frank proudly served in the U.S. Army during World War II assigned to Company B 12th Infantry Regiment. He fought in the Northern France, Rhineland and the Ardennes campaigns where he received the Bronze Star, Combat Infantry Badge, Presidential Unit Citation, European African Middle Eastern Theater Campaign Ribbon, the Victory Medal, Good Conduct Medal and the American Theater Campaign Ribbon. He was a life member of V.F.W. Post 9427 and the American Legion Post 74. For many years Frank proudly led the Pledge of Allegiance at Fairfield’s Memorial Day Parade.
