Frank J. Gomolka, Jr. was a good, nice and humble soul who loved the Lord and family equally. He was kind and giving. Frank saw the world through his big beautiful blue eyes and a goofy sense of humor holding strongly onto his faith.

On Thursday, September 29, 2022, after 79 years, heaven opened; Frank’s soul was unburdened and he was set free of earthly bonds. His spirit shall soar as a dove singing praises eternally.

Frank was born in Orange, NJ; had been an Oaklyn resident and spent over 40 years as a Maple Shade neighbor. He took pride in being an Army veteran; never wavering and always rooting for Army against Navy even with all the losses. After a stint with PSE+G, he made his career working as a forklift operator at American Honda in Mt. Laurel, retiring after 35 years. Frank was a dedicated and active congregant in the Oaklyn Baptist Church for over 50 years. He had served in almost every capacity including Trustee, Deacon, Sunday school teacher and youth group leader. He was a train enthusiast, enjoyed traveling and spending some time out on the golf course. At home, he enjoyed puttering around the house, taking care of the flowers, reading  and watching football.  We’ll look back and smile because it was the life Frank wanted and he decided to live it well.

Frank leaves to cherish his memory, his wife Diane (nee Stokes) Gomolka and his sons; David & his wife Tracie;  Frank III & his wife Sherri. He is the proud grandfather of David and his wife Zeena, grandson Shjon; Alex & his wife Shelby and grandson Nathan.  He was blessed to be the great grandfather of Dax, Wren, and Koralee Gomolka. Frank is also survived by his ex wife Barbara and her husband Art who shared his passion for trains.  He will be sadly missed by his sister-in-law Roseanne Ganiel, and his nephews Ritch and Ron Ganiel.
