Frank Joseph DeFiore was born on July 18, 1942, in San Diego, California to Luke Keith DeFiore and Mary Florence Perillo and was the oldest of four siblings. The DeFiore family moved to Colorado in 1945. He grew up in North Denver, graduated from Mt. Carmel High School in 1960, and attended Regis University and the University of Northern Colorado. He met the love of his life, Karen Grove, in 1963, and they were married on May 2, 1964.

Frank and Karen bought a home in Denver in 1970 where they raised their three children, Michele, Anthony, and Kristin. His faith in God and unconditional love for his wife of fifty-six years, his children, his five grandchildren, his sister, and friends, remained strong until his last moments. His list of loves would not be complete without mentioning his favorites: the New York Yankees, Los Angeles Lakers, the Fighting Irish of Notre Dame, and the Denver Broncos. In fact, he was a Denver Bronco season ticket holder since 1964!

Frank is survived and dearly loved by his wife Karen, his daughter Michele (Andrew) of Thornton, his son Anthony (Brenda) of Henderson, and his daughter Kristin of Thornton; along with five grandchildren, Frank, Sophia, Karter, Kellen, and Kwinn. He is also survived by his sister BJ (Marc) of Thornton. He is preceded in death by both of his parents and his brothers, John and Don.
