Dr. Frank Hunter was born in Lawrence County, Bedford, Indiana, September 27, 1925 and died on July 17, 2018. He was the son of George and Ida Hunter and had three brothers and a sister who have preceded him in death. He is survived by his wife, Lois and two daughters, Peggy (Drew) Hawkins and Susan Hunter as well as five grandchildren and seven great grandchildren.
Frank graduated from Heltonville High School and from Indiana University with a BS, MS and doctorate. He was a WWII veteran serving with the US 8th Army in the Pacific and Japan.
He served in the Bedford Public School as an elementary principal and assistant superintendent. Dr. Hunter moved to the MSD Perry Twp. Schools where he was an assistant superintendent and superintendent for 12 years. While there, he saw the school system nearly double in enrollment, precipitating the addition of Perry Meridian High School and Meridian Middle School. Dr.
He served as Sr. VP of Century 21 of Indiana/ Kentucky, Inc for 12 years during the early development of the franchise.
