Frank “Frankie” Harry Madden, 84, of Ridgefield, passed away peacefully on Friday, June 3, 2022. He was the loving husband of Marie (Pascale) Madden.
Frank was born in Stamford, CT on February 18, 1938; a son of the late Harry and Catherine (Harrington) Madden. Frank married the love of his life Marie in 1959, together they raised two daughters who were the light of his life. He devoted much of his extra time to coaching them in sports, traveling across the country with them; bringing them to Disney World every year from 1973 to 1987. He was even the Indian Chief of the Indian princesses when they were young.
Frank was never more excited than when his first grandchild, Michael, was born. He adored all three of his grandchildren of course, and in 2010 continued the tradition of exploring the United States with Marie, Mary-Jo his daughter and her 3 children. Frank always had a love for animals. Especially for George, who his daughter Kathleen rescued in 2008.
Frank never had a difficult time making friends he has managed to maintain lifelong friendships whose families have become an important part of his life. There are so many individuals who have been blessed by knowing Frank, and who would agree, once you become a part of Frank’s life you were there to stay and that it is a lovely place to be. Frank’s focus was always on family and friends, and seeing the fullness of his life. This was evident as Frank was loyal, dependable, resourceful, interested and interesting with a work ethic that was admirable and enviable.
After graduating high school Frank took a job at Clairol, where he worked for 42 years. Early in his career he felt the need to serve his country. Frank served in the US Navy aboard a destroyer, the USS Hunt. He was a retired Project Manager for Clairol. Frank also was the building manager for the Ridgefield Community Center, a cook for King Neptune Restaurant, a youth softball coach and a devoted employee and later volunteer to the Congregation of Notre Dame.
Frank is survived by his wife of 62 years, Marie, as well as their two daughters, Kathleen Madden and her husband Ron Dreskin, Mary-Jo Madden (Roger Knick). He is also survived by three grandchildren: Michael, Julia, and Elizabeth Knick; a brother, William Madden (Barbara); a sister in law, Frances Moavero; as well as his nieces and nephews: Richard Moavero (Francine), Arlene Moavero (Todd), Suzanne Burr (Todd), and Bill Madden (Kerri).
He was predeceased by his friend and brother-in-law Richard Moavero.
