“Lord make me to know mine end, and the measure of my days.

What it is, that I may know how frail I am”

Peacefully asleep, at the New York City Veterans Hospital on Friday, November 5th, 2021, Frank Edward McBride, age 72, took the flight of a lifetime, on a journey we all must travel; he went home to be with the Lord.  Frank Edward McBride lovingly known as “Uncle Frank” to family and friends was born to the late Ollie and Letha McBride on February 2, 1949, in Mobile, Alabama.

Frank spent his childhood years in Mobile, Alabama. He attended Trinity Lutheran School and Williamson High School. Frank furthered his education by attending a trade school where he learned Carpentry and mastered Auto Mechanics.

Shortly after Frank migrated to New York City, in 1969 he enlisted in the United States Army and served his country receiving an Honorable Discharge on April 2, 1971. Frank met and united with his soul mate “Ronnie” Veronica; they married in 1975. To this    union they had two daughters, Dawn and Latesha (Penny) McBride. Frank was a proud husband and   father and enjoyed keeping close family ties. In addition to his devotion to Dawn and “Penny”, Uncle Frank became the “community dad.” There wasn’t a time that you would not find Uncle Frank disciplining the neighborhood kids and chaperoning them to local events.

Uncle Frank also had a passion for repairing and restoring cars. The neighborhood will greatly miss having their on-the-spot mechanic.

Frank’s faith was rekindled. He received the water baptism in Jesus’ Name and experienced the Holy Ghost speaking in unknown tongues at Christ Pentecostal Temple Inc., under the leadership of the late Bishop Marion Lockett. He found spiritual comfort and kinship in his church family.

Frank Edward McBride was preceded in death by his father, Ollie; mother, Letha; brothers, Walter, and James; and sister, Freddie Mae.

Frank leaves to cherish his legacy, his loving and devoted wife of 43 years of marriage, Veronica; his son Reginal McBride; his daughters Dawn Green (Shatner), and Latesha (Penny) Fobbs (Tyreak); his brother Fred McBride; his sisters: Vernice, Mary McBride, and Georgetta Jones; Grandchildren: Reginald Reed, Rodrick Reed, Courtney Green, and Xavier Green; Godson Antonio Wiggins; Goddaughters Patricia Graves, and Candice Graves; five brothers-in-law and one sister-in-law; and a host of nieces, nephews, friends and Christ Pentecostal Temple Inc. church family.
