Frank (Francesco) DeNoia, of Hamden CT, passed away in Arden House after a brief illness. He was born in New Haven, CT July 20, 1925 to Immaculata (Margaret) Vizziello and Antonio Vito DeNoia. He was the widower to his beloved wife Anna Fragola DeNoia. Frank was educated in the New Haven school system and worked for the New Haven Railroad and Amtrak for many years. As a young man Frank joined the CT State Guard then enlisted in the U.S. Navy. He proudly served during WWII on board the USS Canberra (CA 70) in the South Pacific. He later joined the U.S. Army Reserve and re-enlisted in the CT State Guard. Mr. DeNoia had honorable discharges from both the Navy and Army. Frank was a member of the USS Canberra Reunion Assoc. (CA70), the American Legion Post 0079 and Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 2096. In addition to his wife he was predeceased by his sisters, Rose Sorrentino and Angelina DePalma. He leaves many nieces and nephews who will always remember him for his devotion to his country, wife, and Italian heritage.
