WINSTED –HOHMEISTER – Frank C. Hohmeister, 89, passed away at home on Saturday, January 24, 2015 with his wife of 65 years, Joanne, at his side. He was born in Jersey City, NJ and spent his early years in Teaneck, NJ. After graduating from Teaneck High School, he spent four years on submarine duty for the U.S. Navy, an experience that turned him into a pacifist. He attended and graduated from Wesleyan University in Middletown, CT. He and his business partner worked primarily on importing of French Marine products. He was a member of Winsted’s School Board for over ten years and was also served on the Y.M.C.A. Board for several years. In addition to his wife, he is survived by three sons and their wives, Mark and Cay Hohmeister of Tallahassee, FL, Kurt and Julie Hohmeister of Bethlehem, NH, and Peter and Hilary Hohmeister of Stamford, CT; as well as five grandchildren and four great grandchildren.
