Frank “Hot Dog” Ardito, 80, of Village Circle, Hamden passed away on March 2, 2014 in the St. Raphael’s Campus of Yale New Haven Hospital. He was the husband of the late Barbara Tortora Ardito. Mr. Ardito was born in New Haven Oct. 12, 1933, son of the late Frank and Isabelle Maloney Ardito. A product of the Davenport Ave. neighborhood, he was known as “Hot Dog” all his life. Prior to his retirement, he worked in the building trades in masonry and waterproofing. During the Korean War, he served in the U.S. Army. He is survived by a son, Frank T (Robin) Ardito of Boston; a daughter, Robin (John) Bodak of Woodbridge; three brothers, John (Elizabeth) Ardito of East Haven, Edward (Brenda) Ardito of Middletown and Daniel (Linda) Ardito of Hamden; three sisters, Mary Lou (Edward) Knight of Orange, Colleen (Anthony) DelVecchio of West Haven and Alice (Joseph) Mantovanni of North Haven; and two grandchildren, Cole Bodak and Olivia Ardito. He was predeceased by a brother, James T. Ardito and a sister, Kathleen Ardito
