Frank A. Matthews, age 93, of Milford, passed away in his home on Monday, March 17, 2008. He was born on November 21, 1914, in Southfield, NY, to the late A’Delbert and Elizabeth Babcock Matthews. Before retiring, he was employed by Milford Rivet as a headerman. An active member of the community, he was a member of Ansantawae Lodge #89, Milford Bow Hunters and served as a Lieutenant in the Devon Hose Volunteer #4 Fire Dept. Mr. Matthews is survived by his loving wife of 67 years, Mary Jane Newton Matthews, devoted sons Frank R. Matthews and his wife Claudia of Milford and Bruce Matthews and his wife Mary Jo of Manio, NC, dedicated daughter Lori Cote and her husband Steven of Virginia Beach, VA, brother Edward Matthews and his wife Betty Lou of Gold Canyon, AZ, grandchildren Christine, Cathleen, Stephen, Michael, Lindsay, Michael C. and Daniel, 7 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Besides his parents, he is predeceased by his brothers Raymond and Delbert Matthews and sister Nina Gryskiewicz.
