Frank A. Elio, affectionately known as “Foo Foo”, died January 26, 2019. Frank was born to the late Agostino and Christina Elio on January 10, 1923 in Fairview, New Jersey. Frank was an army veteran who proudly served his country during WWII. He was employed by Lever Brothers of Edgewater until his retirement in 1978. He was a loving and caring family man who took great pride in his children and grandchildren. His love of family and friends left you feeling like ” a doll of all dolls, a chief , a captain” His endless terms of endearment reminded everyone that life is beautiful .He was happily married to Eleanor who he affectionately called “Babe” for 62 years. Friends and family loved his fun-loving nature and willingness to help in whatever way was needed.

He enjoyed listening to Frank Sinatra music and loved to attend shows in Atlantic City. An avid Yankees and Giants fan , he also loved to watch Penn State football. Frank was predeceased by his parents, his wife, Eleanor Gillen Elio; brothers, Austin Elia; Salvatore Elio; sisters, Josephine Vergallito; Rose Giampaglia; Eleanor Gambardella; Mary Gentile; Gilda Bass. Frank is survived by his daughters, Sharon Bowers and her husband Richard of Little Egg Harbor; Christine Slinsky and her husband James of Jim Thorpe, Pennsylvania; Renee Kotsianas and her husband Dimitrios of Howell; 6 grandchildren, Monica Ciechon, Jennifer VanPeenen, Eric Slinsky, Candice Madden, Nicole Onyrcuk, Laura Sagos and 9 great grandchildren.
