Frank Allen, a devoted husband and father, an avid golfer and hunter, and a man of exceptional integrity, passed away May 20, 2019 at his home in Centennial, Colorado surrounded by his family. After a long battle with cancer, Frank decided it was time to move onto the next phase. As Frank would say, “I got eaten up by a lion and sh*t over a cliff.” Frank is survived by his loving wife of 50 years, Jere; his son Jeff Allen and son-in-law Tim Allen; his daughter Cindy Allen; his brother Bill Allen and sister-in-law Susy Allen, nieces Stephanie Knox and Christie Jones.

Frank was born July 5, 1944 in Miami, Arizona to Miriam Gumpert Allen and Henry Allen Jr. By age 11, Frank was playing golf every day after school at Cobre Valley Country Club which set the foundation for his successful golf career. In 1967, he graduated from the University of Arizona with a bachelor’s degree in accounting. Then in 1969, he married the love of his life and best friend, Jere Allen. According to Frank, it was the best thing that ever happened to him. Shortly after college he was invited to try out for the PGA tour – but declined because he was a new groom; he learned early what it takes to have a successful marriage and would have celebrated his 50th wedding anniversary on June 21 of this year. Frank started his career with Price Waterhouse in Phoenix, Arizona in 1967, and when they offered him a job in Detroit or New York City, you can imagine his reaction. Instead, he started his own tax and accounting practice in Scottsdale, Arizona. Then, in 1980, a college fraternity brother offered him a job as CFO of a real estate development firm in Denver, Colorado and within 6 weeks, he and Jere moved the family to Centennial, Colorado. In 1984, he decided balancing family and career was the most important thing and started his own CPA firm. This same year, he and Jere purchased 40 acres of land in Northwest Colorado and in 1985, the family and many close friends built an entire cabin in the span of 12 weekends. Ever since, Frank hunted this property filling the freezer with fresh game for his family. Not only was Frank an avid hunter, he also flourished as a skilled golfer. Among many golf accomplishments, he won the senior club championship at the Pinery Country Club when he was 50 years old.

Frank was loved and respected by many because of his generosity, honesty, and integrity. Frank would want all to carry these words of wisdom with you; “Don’t take yourself too seriously, and don’t care what others think of you.
