Francisco Castillo Porras, 82, longtime Deming resident entered eternal rest on Saturday, July 2, 2022 at The Village of Northrise in Las Cruces.
Francisco was born October 10, 1939 in Estacion La Cruz, Chihuahua to Jesus and Marcelina (Castillo) Porras. Francisco moved to in Deming 1957 and made this town his home and where raised his family until his passing. He was a very hard worker and was an agriculture farmer for many years. Francisco had many interests in his life which included tractors in which he operated for many years will working on the farm. He enjoyed playing cards, watching horse races and rooster fights but he had a love for the beauty of horses. He also enjoyed watching sports especially his favorite team, the Los Angeles Dodgers, he would never miss a game and at the point where his family would joke at him for having two tv’s so he could enjoy a good baseball game and catch his novellas at the same. Francisco was a member of the catholic church.
He is survived by his children, Rosa (Leo) Solis of Deming, Lupe Porras of Santa Fe, Fidela (Carlos) Diaz of Irving, TX, Luisa (Alfredo) Porras of Camargo, Chih, and Jose Porras of Deming; 9 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great grandchild. As well as a special companion, Patsy Flores.
Preceding him in death are his parents, 7 siblings, a grandson, Juanito Romero and a great-great grandchild.
