Francis Xavier Lynch (Fran), age 68, of Broomfield, CO. formerly of Fairfield, passed away Wednesday, October 1, 2014. Fran was born and raised in Fairfield. He graduated from Roger Ludlowe High School where he excelled in football, leading the team to the State Championship, which no team has won since. He was later inducted in the Roger Ludlowe Athletic Hall of Fame. Fran attended Oklahoma Military Academy and was later drafted by the Denver Bronco’s out of Hofstra University. He played his entire professional football career from 1967-1976 wearing # 22 with the Bronco’s. Fran served in the United States Air Force Reserves. He was an avid golfer, and loved coaching his grandson’s football team the “Legacy Lightning” from Legacy High School. He also coached the “Broomfield Blitz” football team, as well as the Fairfield University football team many years ago. Survivors include two sons, Kevin and his wife Robin Lynch and their sons, Matthew, Ryan and Adam of Broomfield, CO and Scott Lynch of Phoenix, AZ; and a sister, Jeanne Gussen of Fairfield. He was predeceased by a brother John Lynch.
