Frank Jones, 91, of Chester died May 5, 2015. He was born in Bath, England on August 6, 1923, the second son of the late Philip and Erenie Jones. He graduated from Dartmouth College Naval Academy and served as a young naval officer in the British Royal Navy during World War II. He was honorably discharged at the end of the war. In 1955, he emigrated to United States with his wife, Sheila Woodward Jones, and their four young daughters. He pursued a career as a mechanical engineer with General Electric, residing in several states. The family settled in Groton, where he and Sheila started the Anchor Rental business. They sold the business after many years and spent the next 12 years in their mobile home touring the country. Frank was predeceased by his wife, Sheila and is survived by his four daughters, Ann Jones and her husband, Ken Greenwalt of Ferndale, WA, Jill Jones and her husband, Frank Kucharski of Chester, Tessa Hexter and her husband, Brian of Moosup, and Caroline Jones of Gibsonton, FL; his six grandchildren, Tad Fabian, Geoffrey Jones, Philip Jones, Tiffany Hexter, Katherine Hyatt and Lindsey Kucharski, as well his friend, Elise Piquet. Frank loved sailing and gardening and was very knowledgeable about both. He shared his love with his daughters who carry on his traditions.
