Uncasville – Francis R. “Dick” McMahon, 85 husband of Nancy (Coyle) Moros and the late Lucille (Colburn) McMahon, of Mt. Laurel Ridge Rd., formerly of Taftville, died Wednesday evening, December 23, 2015 at home. Born in Norwich, he was the son of the late Francis and Mary (McCarthy) McMahon. Dick was a graduate of the Norwich Free Academy class of 1948.
On June 28, 1952 in Sacred Heart Church he was united in marriage to Lucille Colburn who passed away on August 21, 1996. He then married his present wife, Nancy Moros on August 27, 2011 at Camp Niantic.
Mr. McMahon was employed for over fourty-four years as a meat cutter for the First National Supermarkets and continued working part time until fully retiring four years ago. Dick was a proud veteran of the Korean War serving with the United States Army. Dick was a life member of the VFW Post 594 in Norwich.
Surviving are his sons Gary McMahon and his wife Kate, Patrick McMahon and his wife Laura, Kevin McMahon, and Joe McMahon and his wife Sydney, Joel Moros and his wife Sarah; his daughters Paula Gauvin and her husband Rene, Karen McMahon, and Mary Crawford and her husband Bruce, Jeannine Kniffen and her husband Stephen, and Marissa Butten and her husband Mark; grandchildren Philip McMahon and his wife Lisa, Sylena Stabley, Katie May and her husband Jason, Ken Gauvin, Franky, Erin, Sean, Connor, Mason, Noah, Ethan, and Christopher McMahon, Adam and Olivia Crawford, Alissa and Austin Rennacker; eight great grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his wife Lucille McMahon; sons Michael and Ricky McMahon; a brother Tom McMahon; and a son in law Lee Rennacker.
