Francis was born in Washington DC, the only child of his parents. He moved to Maryland with Mrs. Virginia C. Minis at the age of eleven and remained in the community for the remainder of his life.
Pete as he was called, attended P.G. County Public School until he transferred to Melwood Agriculture and was assigned to the National Arboretum in Washington DC. He continued caring for lawns in the area until his health began to deteriorate. However, he did continue to care for a few long time clients.
Everyday Pete would walk to various places in the area, including on Sundays to St.
There are many things to be proud of Francis for but one thing I am most proud of is that he recently celebrated fifteen years of sobriety. Francis was the epitome of “you d0 not have to be blood to be family”. He had sisters, brothers, nieces, nephews, cousins and many, many, friends all around the area. Pete was one of the friendliest people in our community.
He will be missed tremendously by all who knew him.
Lovingly submitted,
Your sister Beverly
Remember Me
To the living, I am gone.
To the sorrowful, I will never return.
To the angry, I was cheated,
But to the happy, I am at peace,
And to the faithful, I have never left.
I cannot be seen, but I can be heard.
So as you stand upon a shore, gazing at a beautiful sea – remember me.
As you look in awe at a mighty forest and its grand majesty – remember me.
As you look upon a flower and admire its simplicity – remember me.
Remember me in your heart, your thoughts, your memories of the times we loved,
the times we cried, the times we fought, the times we laughed.
For if you always think of me, I will never be gone.
