Francis “Peanuts” McAuliffe, 71, of Freeport, passed away Tuesday, January 5, 2010, at FHN Memorial Hospital.
Born March 16, 1938 he was the son of John and Mary (Parker) McAuliffe. He married Joyce Buss on May 24, 1957 at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Lena. Francis was a member of the Freeport Eagles and Cement Masons Local II retiring in 1999. He then worked at Knollwood Estates until January of 2009.
He is survived by his wife, Joyce of Freeport; 2 sons, Brian (Dorothee) McAuliffe of Pecatonica and Kevin (Sara) McAuliffe of Cedarville; 1 daughter, Brenda (Jim) Charlson of Dubuque; 6 grandchildren, Ryan McAuliffe, Riley and Carly McAuliffe, Robert, Joseph, and Alex Charlson of Dubuque.
He was preceded in death by his parents; 1 brother; 2 sisters; and a granddaughter. The family wishes to extend a thank you to FHN Hospice for all the care, kindness, and friendship they gave. And a special thank you to friends, Joyce and Lyle Ditsworth.
